Dawn Treader Christian School - IMPACT

Week 1: Dawn Treader Christian School students started their digital recording lab project, reading a piece of literature and picking a "vibe" to base their music production on. Using Soundtrap features, students started to incorporate their own perspectives and creations into learning music production.

Week 2: Students at Dawn Treader Christian School continued to finish working on their digital recording lab project #1. Students started their second project by using their own favorite piece of literature and repeating the same project, but with new concepts/ideas in mind.

Week 3: Dawn Treader Christian School students continued working on their second project, adding new elements such as fade, voice effects, and one-shots, to enhance their music production.
Week 4: Equal Notes finished their last session at DTCS's IMPACT summer camp; students finished up their final projects with a focus on troubleshooting errors. Additionally, in the second half of the class, the students had the opportunity to share their available projects with the class, demonstrating and discussing what elements they tried to emphasize.

Thank you, Dawn Treader Christian School, for a wonderful four weeks of summer IMPACT partnership!

Session 1: Equal Notes visited Angelos Mission Ensemble’s Steadfast Heart Summer Camp 2026 to introduce students to the importance of nonprofit organizations and the role they can play in supporting their communities. During the session, Equal Notes shared the story behind its founding, its mission, and the work it has done to expand access to music education for students in underserved communities. Through examples from its programs, outreach efforts, and partnerships, Equal Notes highlighted how a student-led organization can turn an idea into meaningful action. The presentation also encouraged campers to think about the needs within their own communities and how nonprofit organizations can create opportunities, bring people together, and make a lasting impact.

Session 2: Equal Notes returned to support Angelos Mission Ensemble’s 2026 Benefit Concert, assisting with stage crew responsibilities and basic concert management. Our team helped with behind-the-scenes operations to ensure that the event ran smoothly, while also learning firsthand how a nonprofit benefit concert is organized and managed.
By supporting the concert, Equal Notes contributed to AME’s 22nd-anniversary mission under the theme “The Steadfast Heart.” This year, all proceeds from the concert were dedicated to the Bella Music Foundation, an organization that empowers blind musicians through education, mentorship, and performance opportunities. Through the collective efforts of AME, its musicians, volunteers, and supporters, the concert raised $9,505 for the Bella Music Foundation.

Thank you to Angelos Mission Ensemble for giving Equal Notes this wonderful opportunity to learn, serve, and contribute to such a meaningful cause. We are grateful for the experience and look forward to continuing and strengthening our partnership with AME in the future.
